Do u think both these are portable for daily commute? Which of the two laptop is better in terms of performance. By performance I mean running apps without hiccps, Multitasking, Programming, Running Oracle database, Games, Web, Office. Any ideas? And portability

I don't know what you're talking about--my suggestion is this: If one's dual-core and the other one's not, then get the dual-core one. If both are dual-core or none are, then get the one with a higher GHz rating. Also, plenty of ram should help. Get 1 Gig or more. (P.S. Windows Vista is comping out on January 30, 2007. If you don't need it now, wait for Vista! CompUsa is already selling Vista--they have an early license.)
Please provide more specs.

We've been using 800 series Latitudes in bad environments for a few years now and are pretty happy with them. They're fairly tough and the only one that's ever quit was fixed by a guy who showed up the next day.

They are both good brands.Please, check their product review in different computer magazines before you make your final decision.
