i wanna ask that i have motherboard INTEL BAY FIELD D865GBF and CPU Intel Pentium 4, 3000 Mhz. I m going to upgrade my motherboard in Feb. Can any one tell me that do i also have to change my CPU with my motherboard or tha same CPU can be shifted in new motherboard. PLZ TELL.

I'm thinking of making the switch to linux, but i am scared i will ruin my computer and that if i dont like it, i can't switch back to windows, as i dont have a windows xp disk. can someone tell me what the pros/cons of having linux, and which in your opinion is better?

Okay i've been getting the dreaded blue screen of death. Its completely random i've gotten it being online,just booting up at very first screen, at windows screen. while sometimes it wont do it at all. I've format'd my harddrive twice saved what i couldnt reinstall in my partition moved that stuff back. got one blue screen prior to that. I fix computers and this one has me embarassingly stumpped. My thoughts of what it could be is a possible wrong setting in the CMOS, or a hardware issue. I had replaced my mainboard once prior when I had this problem and it fixed it. However the new board could of got struck by lighting i suspose. I dont believe a lighting strike would cause it to be a random blue screen though. Any ideas?

My battery has been lasting w/o the cord for about 20 minutes and about 5 when playing a movie.

Now it won't even stay on when unplugged like it's not a laptop anymore, just a desk computer.

Could it be loose? Can I charge this battery like a car battery? Any suggestions?

when i play music it says cannot play back audio stream:no audio hardware is availble, or the audio hardware is not responding

when i go to drive c: properties then hardware
i don't see the list of hardware just blank but aside from the slowing down of my computer and no sounds its running fine

i have avg antivirus free and avg antispyware free
it told me to remove norton in the installation so i removed it

what is wrong with it ? I if leave the mouse for a couple of seconds it scrolls across the screen by its self..
and sometimes when using it to click links and moves slightly away from the link making it hard to click..

Ok, i got this laptop cd-rom on my desktop. i was putting a cd in but didn't really press it in, so now it disappeared somewhere in the thingy. i have no clue how to get it out of there because i can still use it for reading other cd's, it's just gives me an uneasy feeling that somewhere in there is a linux live cd-rom. Have any ideas?
