Have just been given a 'old' imac (1999 I think), from a school, It only seems to have around 8 GB free space but I can't find any programs that are using much memory. How much memory should one of these things have?

The dollar Tree was selling these little ink cartridge refillable kits so I figured, well for one buck I'd try it. I got it home and opened it up and low and behold...NO DIRECTIONS but several parts to it. It comes with a little tiny silver ball(for what? i have no idea) a thing that looks like a sardine can opener, a thin silver (who-knows-what-you-call-it) thing that looks like an eyeglass screwdriver. WTF is all this for? and how the heck do i put it all together? if you have used something like this or have any incling that you feel might enlighten me, please feel free to do so, I will take responses from EVERYONE! thank you

I want to upgrade my socket 939 AMD 3000+ chip. I've found an AMD 3500 Venice at £60 http://www.aria.co.uk/#/Products/Components/CPUs+%2F+Processors/AMD/Athlon+64+Socket+939/AMD+Athlon64+3500+Venice+Retail?productId=18149 and a 3700+ http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=318311 at £45. They both run at 2.2 GHz, so I'm puzzled by the difference in the price.. I'm tempted to go for the cheaper 3700 as it also has twice the cache memory. Or am I missing something?

I appreciate everyone who answered by previous question on the laptop which i bought in USA to make it work in India. I thank you all for your answers.
I highly appreciate if you can answer me the following questions as well:
1. The AC adapter of my DELL Latitude Laptop has the following configuration:
***********************************************
INPUT: AC 100-240V ~1.5A(1,5A)
50-60HZ
OUTPUT: DC 19.5V(19,5V) 4.62A(4,62A)
***********************************************
Does the above configuration mean that i can use the AC adapter for my laptop (which i bought in USA) for Indian Power supply as well? If not, then do i have to buy Step-down transformer? What other options do i have(i mean, what is the safest and the best option available for me)

2. Some say that since the configuration of the AC adapter for my laptop(as can be seen above) matches Indian as well as US config for power supply, i need not buy any step-up transformer to work in India. Is that true?
