what are the types of RAM and how many pins do they have?????

Types of Ram:

1. DIP - 18-pin
2. SIPP
3. SIMM - 30-pin
4. SIMM aka. "PS/2 SIMM" - 72-pin
5. DIMM(types)
* SDRAM - 168-pin
* DDR SDRAM - 184-pin
* DDR2 SDRAM - 240-pin



NOTE:

DIP = DRAM Chip

SIPP = Single In-line Pin Package

SIMM = Single in-line memory module

DIMM = Dual in-line memory module

For use in Laptops:

Small outline DIMM (SO-DIMM).
Comes in:
* 72 pins (32-bit)
* 144 pins (64-bit)
* 200 pins (72-bit)

*SO-DIMM is a smaller version of DIMM (for laptops)

Rams are SDRam, DDR, RDRam. The pin details vary accordingly.
