The system in question is a Dell Dimension 2400. The PC3200 ram came from a Dimension 3000 if that helps.

It will most likely work but there are no guarantees since some motherbroads are very picky about what type of RAM is installed. In addition, you will most likely not be able to benefit from the higher frequency RAM since the motherboard may not support its speed. But it will work. I hope it answers your question.

PC3200 does run on the same DIMM slot as PC2700. As for it working you would need to check your motherboard's manual. It usually does work.

If you mix the two speeds together, they will both run at the lower speed, but they will run just fine.
