The power source went out on my pc. I replaced it and it still wont start. push the power button and nothing. the fan on the power source wont even turn on. nothing happens-zilch. anyone have any good sensible suggestions?

I've bought this laptop:

It says 80GB on the box and on the listing as above but when I check the computer properties I see 66.7GB Total Space.
Is there anyone that explain whyI don't have 80GB.

the yellow dots apear occaisonally and are not specific to one part of the screen so for example they will affect a text box in places and when i move it then follow the box not staying static on the screen. it is not permanent to any part though. is it somthing like a virus or is it colour specific so a new screen is needed?

I have a 120 GB external hardrive which I have been using for about a year. Recently, an error message came up saying that The disc in drive F is not formatted. It no longer recognizes the drive, and it tells me I must format it. Is there any other way to get my computer to read the drive? It seems like that is the only option, and I'm not even sure its going to work. Help!

Ok I might get a new laptop...debating on weather i should spend the extra money (which i dont have) and get a 120gig or a much cheeper 40gig and just adding on an external hard drive that goes through the USB doing this woudl be alot cheeper...good idea or no, why?

The brightness on the screen of a laptop keeps going down. It suddenly just goes down to 0%. Every time it increased manually, it just goes back to 0%. How can this be fixed?

My laptop has been off for 5 days now. I tried holding the pwer button down for 7+ seconds, I tried taking the battery out and putting it back, I tried to turn it on without the battery, none of these have worked. This happened before, but one of those options worked, and it's never been this long. Some have said it over heated, something's wrong with the hard drive, and possibly the fan. I took it to Best Buy to get it fixed the last time it did this, but all they ended up doing was erasing everything from my computer, and the problem still consisted. What else could be the problem? And how can I possibly fix it? I really need my laptop for school.

My computer is a Toshiba Laptop Satellite A70-75 series. It cames with a CD wish says "Recovery and applications / Drivers DVD".

My question is: Can I use that CD in order to restore my laptop's OS as the first day I bought it?

I want to connect a desktop computer sound card with an audio console (this is for my church sound-system).
I want to buy the cable to connect them both (one side is a big plug, like the one electric guitars, microphones, and so on use, the other side is the back of the pc sound card: the same plug a regular headphone would have.
