Purchase an external HD case that uses a SATA interface. The most common ones are EIDE but I have seen the SATA. You may have to purchase a complete unit. The external connection to the PC will of course be a USB.
Hope this helps.

You need to buy an external enclosure for a SATA drive. This will allow you to run your drive via USB or firewire. I've included a link for you so you know what I am talking about.
Good Luck

any external USB or firewire (firewire will perform better than USB especially if it's firewire 800 but will cost you more) enclosure of the right size and with the right drive interface should work fine. Make sure you get the right size (2.5 inch or 3.5 inch) and interface (IDE or SATA), you should be able to tell the drives size and interface from looking at the drive.

If it won't work internally, it won't externally either. the hard drive is not encased when it's inside the tower, and an internal drive isn't designed to sit outside the tower.
