How do you know what type of had drive you have??? I want to get another one for my computer and want to know what type i have. My computer only came with a XP Media Center manual?! Can anyone help?

Right click "My Computer". Choose "Properties", the "Hardware" tab, then click "Device Manager". Expand "Disk Drives". There will be some numbers and letters there. Example: ST340014AS. Open Google, enter those numbers, and hit enter. With the example that I just gave you, you can find that this is a Seagate Barracuda 40 gigabyte 7200RPM drive with a 2 MB cache.

Remember, Google is your friend.

Just go to your computer's manufacturers website and look for the support area and enter your Model number in the specifications area. Usually in the Support\Download area.

try this, click start / all programs / accessories / system tools / system information

when the box comes up click the relevant menus and it will give you the serial number of the drive installed

This may be all the information you need
