I want to buy a laptop or notebook for my own work. What factors should I consider? I don't know what technical features I need. Everybody asks me what configuration I am looking for. I don't know what configuration will be best for me. I just know that I need a laptop that supports Windows XP Home/Professional Edition with Office XP features with language support. I need it for typing in Indian regional languages such as Hindi. I use most Office features such as Word, Excel, Front page, Power Point. I want to be able to connect to a broadband internet connection. I need a floppy drive and CD drive. What is the configuration I should be looking for? Please do help.

its 3 years old and i have deleted all unecessary software and run every spyware and virus thing there is... someone said the hard drive might be starting to go... is that possible ? it's an IBM thinkpad with windows XP..and my friend had the same exact one and his hard drive failed. also, the hard drive is like 34 gb full of 40 gb which i heard is bad for xp... is there anything i can do?

This is a 3.5" floppy that an old Sony digital camera uses and now my computer won't read the floppy... I need the pictures for a court case. Is there anyway to retrieve them or possibly a program that might help to read the disk??

I've had this HP with windows xp laptop for some 3 years now and just bought a macbook. the hp w/ windows xp needs to be completly clean. no passwords of mine can be left behind nor any personal info. how can i completly erase everthing to make it seem like the computer will barely, first be started? like a reboot thing? thanks!
