To install the OCR software, u need not any Hardware. If you want to convert a scaned text pate into word file than you have to install the scanner on just scan the page and convert it.

The OCR software comes free with office 2003 tools. Try that

Yes, a scanner. Microsoft Office XP already have a OCR software in it and I've been using it although it is not as good as Readiris.

OCR convert paper to software readable then how are you suppose to get your paper digitize anyway without hardware.

Many Scanners sell with a 'bundle' of s/w, often including a 'free' OCR package (eg. 'Omnipage Lite').

Such s/w is intended only to work with that scanner, so if the scanner is not found maybe the software will not install.

completely application proper. there is not something interior the hardware of the scanner that makes it OCR able. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, you will opt to get a severe decision scanner for the appropriate ends up in applying OCR application!

No you don't need any hardware. You can install OCR software and then have it run OCR on any image.
