You should have some CDs or DVDs to restore the PC back to how you got it. If not, there may be a Toshiba menu option to create a 'restore disk'. If that fails then go to the Toshiba support site to find out about restore CDs for your model.

Once you start the process you can't go back so make sure you have everything you want off it first!

well if you have Windows XP go to the START, the ALL PROGRAMS then go to PC HELP AND TOOLS. Next go to RECOVERY, just read the instructions. There is one recovery where it erases everything but the data files, and the second one which states you will lose all info and will be reset to factory settings. If you have the older windows, you will have to look for the recovery section. I forgot how it is, but it is in there so look in the programs listed.

You would get a CD where factory restore option is available otherwise just Format all the drives and install Win XP. To install Win XP CD just inset the installation CD and restart, Rest will be done automatically.....

Not only reinstall your operating system restoring it to factory settings (make sure it is from scratch nothing left) but also use PGP to do a security wipe of the empty space. this wil tak a while so prepare.
