My cdrw/dvd drive doesn't seem to want to work... whenever I put a cd in it won't pick it up, but the cd drive light flashes and the little cd picture next to the mouse arrow appears.
however it picks up copied cds and blank cds fine, and I can copy things onto cds still. its a laptop computer
This is getting really annoying as it can't be broken or surely it wouldn't pick up any type of cd. it used to work fine

Ran Sandra memory bandwidth test on my P5LD2 Deluxe with PD 930 and OCZ Pc5400(5300)(5-5-5).Had overclock to 3.4Ghz,921.8 system bus(CPU-Z).Results told me efficiency was only about 60% and to raise FSB.Each time I raised clock,FSB increased, but efficiency decreased.Without overclocking efficiency was at 75%.Tried SPD and manual settings for timings only to get same results, raised voltage by 1 to 1.9V and no boot.
Question is what can I do to increase efficiency at higher clock,FSB.Looks like changing multiplier is out of the question.Or am I better off with no OC and accepting 75%?Temp gets a little too much for me when I raise CPU voltage. My setup will be mainly for video editing /encoding.I'm not into extreme OC,but wanted to squeeze a little more juice out ,since it's there.Considering getting new RAM with lower timing, hoping this will help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The new card does not have a power cord and I am installing it so that I can run 2 monitors. If the new card does not work and I have disabled the onboard card how will I see what is going on to re enable the onboard card. I am totally freaked about disabling the onboard. I have gotten to the point of doing it and just can't make myself in fear of the inability to see what is going on....should I call the geeksquad?

I had this in my old comp and it worked fine, but I can't seem to get it to work now. The device manager recognizes the hardware and has it listed in disk drives. I need to know how to change it's location to D:\ or E:\ and make sure it will burn my discs. Can anyone help me?
