Hi Max L,
I think that Bootcamp will work only if you have the newer Intel-based Macs. It's nice to put it on if you have the hard drive space to do it. Also, do you really need Windows XP? I mean, you can do most things cross platform as it is.
Also (now this is all just rumors stuff so far) I've heard that the new Mac OS X will have the Windows API's included, so if you can wait until January when we hear more about it, it might be worth your while.
Also with the release of Vista, you can pick and choose if you want Vista, buy the older XP for cheap, or see if you can work your Windows programs directly from the Mac OS X.
If you can wait that long, you might be able to save a bundle. Best of luck to you.

in case you will purchase a MAC, so which you would be able to run workstation... that's extremely dumb. you would be taking a reliable workstation and putting it in threat. the full thought of having a MAC is to have a MAC for what that's stable for. i does not use the workstation end of it on the cyber web. i might basically use that for Quickbooks and different business corporation applications that are actually not on the MAC platform. MAC specialists: greater effective pictures, greater effective action picture modifying and sound modifying MAC Cons: a million. cyber web progression on occasion produces web content that don't seem precise on IE. only ascertain you attempt with a living house windows IE. 2. some living house windows application won't artwork wisely. My company uses macbooks and I put XP on all of them. It works just as well as on a PC.
XP Pro is a generally waste of money. There's very little it can do that Home can't. Nothing at all for most people.
Boot camp works much better than parallels. You do have to reboot to change OS, but there are a lot of problems with hardware running XP from within OS X. With Boot camp you can't tell you're not on a PC.

If your hard drives big enough and you have enough memory you could also try Parallels http://www.parallels.com lets you run Windows as an application inside OSX.
That's what I do on my macbook pro, have to run a couple of widows programs for work and don't want to carry around two laptops and don't like to reboot to change, but if all you need is a desktop to run Windows on, then I'd just go ahead with buying a second one.

Yes, that is a good idea to buy a separate computer, but why would you want XP when Vista is coming out in January?

If you eve have problem with your Dell under warranty you will have to ship it for service.
My friend has a new Dell, and has spent approximately 6 hours on hold this week trying to get repaired or replaced.

You should "prolly" concentrate on education. It's free. There is no excuse for not taking advantage of it.
