It's possible to view hidden files on a Mac with the aid of third-party applications. My personal favourite is TinkerTool; you can download it from the following URL:
http://www.bresink.com/osx/TinkerTool.html

To reveal hidden files, follow the steps below:
1. Start TinkerTool.
2. Click on the "Finder" tab and then select "Show hidden and system files".
3. Now click the "Relaunch Finder" button located bottom-left of the application window.

When the Finder relaunches, hidden files will be revealed.

If disk use is enabled on your iPod, you can, but I doubt they would be very interesting.

Mine is formatted to the mac file format so don't know if one formated for windows would be the same, but here it goes anyway.

Connect iPod to the mac, open the terminal app, type in at the prompt:

cd /Volumes

then type at the prompt:

ls

(you see the available volumes listed, if your iPod is connected it should show up in the list of volumes)

then type:

cd "followed by the first couple of letters of the name of your iPod then the Tab key"

(for example say it lists Montreux???s iPod then type Mo and it will auto complete the rest of the name which can be tricky to type in other wise with the way that terminal handles spaces and such)

now you should be in your iPods root directory

type:

ls -a

(ls with the all option)

It will list all the files and folders in the root directory including the hidden ones, repeat for any sub folders you want to explore.

There you go.
