I want to buy a laptop in the 700-800 dollars price range. Could any one give any suggestions? Preferably, it should have a 14 inch screen with at least 60 gb of memory and a decent battery life.
P.S. It would be appreciated if you could list the pros and cons of the laptop you are describing.

I had inserted a pen drive / flash drive in my USB port. After the work was over, instead of stopping my flash drive (from the option of safely remove hardware), i accidentally stopped my DVD drive. Now its disabled and i cant find the place from where i can enable it again. Can anyone please help me enable it?? Thanks.

My boyfriend's flash drive just won't work. He's trying to transfer files from his old computer (Windows 98) to the new one (Windows XP). He's had the drivers installed twice but the old computer still can't read it. Anyone can help? Or is there an easier way to transfer massive amounts of files without having to resort to outside help? Pretty please?

My RAM at the moment is 224MB and i have 2 Ram cards(?) from my old PC (they are about an inch high and 4 inches long).
Can i put one of them into my new computer to up the RAM without having to do anything else or do i need software?
I was told they may not be compatible with my new PC?
I'm ok with computers but i'm not sure about this... So any help would be appreciated.
