I had inserted a pen drive / flash drive in my USB port. After the work was over, instead of stopping my flash drive (from the option of safely remove hardware), i accidentally stopped my DVD drive. Now its disabled and i cant find the place from where i can enable it again. Can anyone please help me enable it?? Thanks.

1) Right click on 'My Computer' icon on your desktop.
2) select the 'Hardware' tab from the system properties windows.
3) click on the 'Device Manager' option.
4) From here right click whatever DVD and click properties.
5) On the device properties window select "Enable(or use this device)" option from the device usage drop down box.
That's it. you are done!!!!!!

I assume your DVD device is connected via a USB port. If this is do please follow these simple steps :

- unplug the USB connection to your DVD device
- turn off your PC
- turn the PC back on
- once fully booted, plug the DVD's USB back to the PC

Short of any actual hardware failure, your PC will recognize & re-install your DVD device.

i'd make constructive that UDMA is enabled. Goto gadget manager and discover IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. discover the popular IDE channel and open it up. Goto stepped ahead settings and make constructive that that's keen to DMA if available. make constructive it isn't PIO.
