I just had a new battery sent to me from Dell... it's the right one, it fits and it shows in the battery bar that it is at 38% but it's not charging. I just got it. The little icon at the bottom by the clock (on windows) shows that the computer is running on AC power... but it should (as it has in the past) be running on AC power, but also be charging the battery at the same time. I tried shutting off the computer and it still wont seem to charge. Any suggestions?? Tips?

hello everyone. i am not completely tech-illiterate, i build a couple of systems but im kinda stumped on this one. i build a system a while back and one day woke up to a bluescreen. since then i swaped out all the parts and had a hardware diagnostic done and everything passed. im fairly sure there are no incompatibilities since i had it running at one point. after my system crash im constatntly getting a bluescreen during windows install. the raid drivers are from the motherboard cd, which are the newest ones i believe. now, it does it in both drives and with multiple windows cds. any suggestions would be appreciated.

the motherboard is a a8n32-sli, RAID 5.

Aluminum Case, 120mm (80cfm) pusher fan, 250mm pusher fan, two 80mm exhaust fans. Water cooling for CPU, North Bridge, and South Bridge. Good cooling system, but listen to this radical idea. What if you put the computer (case and all) inside one of those mini-refrigerators? Wouldn't that provide amazing cooling and lead to inredible overclocking possibilties? The computer would also be plugged into a Monster Power Supply with Clean Power Stage 2 Version 2.0 for a stable and protected voltage level. Wouldn't this all provide for maximum system life and extreme overclocked levels?

My Inspiron 1100 has finally kicked the bucket, so I'm looking to buy a new laptop. Problem is, I really don't know too much these days about what to look for in a good computer, which is how I ended up with an Inspiron in the first place. Basically, I'm looking for something with a fast processor, a good graphics card, and lots of RAM. Now that I'm out of college, my laptop will be devoted to gaming instead of writing papers, see.;) Anybody have any suggestions? I'm not necessarily looking for something top-of-the line, just something that will let me play KoTR and Sims 2, graphics-intensive games like that, without croaking.

When looking for a new laptop, i was told by a man very much in the know to look for a Dell with a Dual Core Processor. When i went to the Dell website, all i could see was Core Duo. I did find one Dual Core, but that was quite expensive, I have e-mailed my man in the know. But haven't yet had a reply!!!

So is a Dual Core and a Core duo the same thing, or different?

I'm getting a new laptop and should I go with

160GB with 5400 rpm or
100GB with 7200 rpm for $90 less?

I'm planning on play some game on this laptop (The Sims 2, especially) and here's the config of it:

2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM
ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics with 256MB SDRAM

Will I notice a big diffrence in speed if I decide to go with the 7200 rpm? Or should I got with more capacity but have the 5400 prm?

I have an HP All-in-One model PSC 1510xi. Since I inserted a new ink cartridge, it started printing an unwanted test page whenever I turn it on. That wastes paper and ink. Is there a way to make it stop?
