Hardware - October 2006

Hi! I am iving my laptop to my little brother for his birthday however i have prevously used it for the past three years. Therefore i would like to restore factory settings as my dad has bought all new software for him. My computer is a Samsung V25 and unfortunately i dont have any of the disks thyat originally came with the computer. Please help as its his birthday on 28th of this month!! Thanx!

I'd like to buy a printer and a scanner. Could anyone give me any suggestions, should I buy it as a combo or separate equipment? Which one is better? I am not going to move it around. I'll use it for a small home-business.

The keys are going haywire,
Examples:
The letter D, when pressed, minimizes all applications.
The letter E, opens the windows explorer.

suddenly when I go to open Word it takes forever to open then it opens for a split second and I get the microsoft error message, i tries to open again and just sits there and runs, but doesn't open. Does anyone know how I can get my Word back?

when I connect the USB2.0 External Box with 2.5 External HDD it gives {Generic USB Disk USB Device} & {This device is working properly.} this message but still i cant see those 2 drives wich i created in that HDD {sometimes when i connect the Ext. HDD it gives me the Message that (this device not recognised) (One of the USB device attached to this Computer has MALFUNCTIONED and Windows does not Recognise it)}. I have a Asus P5NSLi motherboard (nvidia chipset) with a Core 2 Duo, the VGA card is an ATI X1900. Do you think since the chipset and the graphics card are made by 2 different companies this could be causing freezing of computer?

Since i have an ATI x1900 would the Asus P5WDH that has the crossfire chipset be a lot smarter of a choice to go with?

The price is $1199 and I'm getting it from conns. My old laptop got messed up and they are giving me credit at the store to choose this computer. It seems to be good, so they say, but I hate that the screen is a 14" and looks so small. I'm used to my old laptops screen.'

I'm going to use this computer for Games, Photos, and Music. It also has a DVD burner and I wanted to know do you think its good? Should I get it or not? I called HP and they said its discontinued, but conns told me this is a very good computer.

How will I know if it is brand new or referbished is there a way to check?

Any suggestions or help please?

The only thing I can recognize in these processors is the frequency. Are some processors needed for different applications?
