I run a program that is java based on my PC that runs all day (stock quote screen), it goes to my screen saver about every 10 minutes, is it possible to turn off the screen saver or lengthen the time it takes before it turns off?

Not so much paper as before, but the cost per sheet has got to be as low as possible. Say 200 A4 a month. Or also 100 a month.

I've installed a second dvd writer and it has worked for 6 months until the other day. every once in awhile it will read a dvd, its reads cds ok. What would caused the dvd writer to do this?

it looks like all my icons are selected but they are not, they still work normal but for some reason behind each icon it is shadowed in blue and the box where the name of the icon appears has a blue background, how do I fix to go back to clear behind the icons?

Last night I restarted my other computer because it was really slow, but then this morning when I went back the screen was just black. It was not in standby mode. I have turned it on and off several times and even unplugged & replugged the main cord, and still the screen is black. The monitor is on though. When I reboot it, the only thing that appears on screen is the COMPAQ logo and when I think it will continue to boot, the screen just stays black. =( What is wrong? We had a heavy thunderstorm in the area last night, but how come the other computers in the house weren't affected (like this one I'm using to ask this.)? Please help on any suggestions. The computer that "died" is the main computer in the house, and we really need it to be working properly. Thanks!

I have a old(IBM compatible) 80286 cpu based PC and too many diskettes(these are 5.25 inch diskettes). The old PC is 100MB HDD, 5.25 inch floppy disk and 1.44MB floppy disk. I have a problem. I would like to move from my old data(in 5.25inch diskette) to my new pentium4 computer.
Are there any solutions?
