it looks like all my icons are selected but they are not, they still work normal but for some reason behind each icon it is shadowed in blue and the box where the name of the icon appears has a blue background, how do I fix to go back to clear behind the icons?

right click on blank space on desktop
in desktop properties choose Display
and make the background none

just restart ur computer and see
and while asking question in yahoo answer or givin answer be sign in yahoo messenger
also in yahoo answer option show ur online status on so users can see u are online
