Is the (laptop) notebook Hp DV1629 good? for games? Music? Dvd?

The price is $1199 and I'm getting it from conns. My old laptop got messed up and they are giving me credit at the store to choose this computer. It seems to be good, so they say, but I hate that the screen is a 14" and looks so small. I'm used to my old laptops screen.'

I'm going to use this computer for Games, Photos, and Music. It also has a DVD burner and I wanted to know do you think its good? Should I get it or not? I called HP and they said its discontinued, but conns told me this is a very good computer.

How will I know if it is brand new or referbished is there a way to check?

Any suggestions or help please?

most laptops cant play games there for light text applications if you burn dvds you better be plugged in i dont think there is any hp laptop that can burn on battery power im on my third laptop this month and this on seems to be the best deal it the dv6120us its $899 and a $50 mail in rebate the only thing bad was i had to use a usb dvd drive to install a program but all the new vista ready laptops seem to have the same problem
