My Inspiron 1100 has finally kicked the bucket, so I'm looking to buy a new laptop. Problem is, I really don't know too much these days about what to look for in a good computer, which is how I ended up with an Inspiron in the first place. Basically, I'm looking for something with a fast processor, a good graphics card, and lots of RAM. Now that I'm out of college, my laptop will be devoted to gaming instead of writing papers, see.;) Anybody have any suggestions? I'm not necessarily looking for something top-of-the line, just something that will let me play KoTR and Sims 2, graphics-intensive games like that, without croaking.

Dell has a series for gaming called the XPS they also have a laptop in the XPS series. Alienware makes a good gaming laptop too I would check it out. Most laptops don't let you change the video card out but those do. Also if it gets to heated you can buy a fan that sits under it to cool it off.

Laptops are not the best for gaming any gamer will tell you that. But since laptops are getting more popular a couple of companies have made special gaming ones. But if you want to get a computer and not have to upgrade in a few years then you should build your own gamming desktop
