I've Just reinstalled my windows xp home Edition. I've lost the Network Connection for my Outlook Express & other programmes.

I'm having trouble with my email Address. I'm not receiving any messages and I can't send any messages on my Outlook Express.
Can anyone help?

I bought a centrino hp laptop that wouldnt boot for 75 dollars. i think the problem is the video card. it is a replaceable ATI card. I disconnected the video cable from the card and reinstlled and it booted. Even loaded a system. But the laptop will freeze up, the screen jitter, or when loading the words are all misplaced and out of order. i.e. microsoft might be mi sot fost, etc. reseating the video card did no good but reseating the cable connector temporarily fixes the problem. Is it worth replacing the video card and does anyone know of a good website that discusses laptop video symptoms and solutions??

I have a Vaio and apparently the C: drive only has 300mb left, I don't download anything, don't store a lot of photos, AND I have tried deleting all the unneccessary files. It seems to lose space everyday. what's going on? It has 14 GB, what is taking up all those space? what can I do to free up more space? Can I transfer some to my D: drive, which has 37 GB? AHHHhhh...fraustrated~~

p.s. no viruses were found either, and I've been running the cleaner everyday. still no hope

Okay, here's what I've done:

1. I can't access the volume controls, so don't bother saying that.
2. I right clicked on My Computer, clicked "manage", and then went to device manager.. there is a little yellow ! on a sound area, but I can't fix it, because it says I need to install something, but I don't have the disc to do so.
3. I typed in "dxdiag" into "Run..." and it says there are no drivers.
4. I've tried system restore but it says there's an error and it can't do it.
5. The speakers ARE in working order.. and I've even tried headphones - no dice.

So.. that's basically everything I've done and that I can think of doing. If you know of ANYTHING that can help restore my sound, then thank you soo much. I will totally give out 10 points to the best answer.

I have a Dell latitude D500 which crashed sometime back. The problem is that now when I turn it on, the caps lock light flashes 10 times, there is no display and the laptop shuts down. I tried seraching for this and found this

I tried the solutions given on that link but it didnt help.
I had 2 questions:
1) Has anyone faced the same problem and has a solution u think might work?
2) If not, does anyone know of a reliable place where I can get it repaired (Out of warranty, so Dell is out of question as they are too expensive). I would prefer a shop in the bay area though a reliable online retailer would be OK too..

My gf downloaded two antivirus's which caused her pc to crash. Tried to use system restore but it froze. After pulling the plug and rebooting the pc hangs at the XP logo screen. I tried reparing with the system disks but it needs the admin password which she cant remember. Anyone have any ideas? She has lots of photos on her harddrive which she would hate to lose. when the power cable comes out, the laptop turns off simple as that! it wont work unless the power cable is plugged in and turned on, and its not that the battery is flat because i had it charging all day.so does this mean the battery is broken?if so what do i need to do?? any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Hi i've been looking at motherboards and it says DDR2 667 Standard (pc5400). the motherboards have 800mhz front side bus. Now does that mean it only supports up to 667mhz or would these be able to use the 800mhz ram?

My husband and I have been looking into different desktop systems for our daughter. She's almost 14 and will be using it for school as well as for burning cd's, etc. I don't know alot about desktop systems as my husband and I have a laptop. We have looked into Dell and HP but I feel like I'm reading a different language with alot of it. We do like the slimline design that HP offers. We want the whole system, including printer, speakers, LCD flat panel moniters, etc. If anyone can help us decide which computer would work the best for her needs, we would greatly appreciate it. Also, if anyone can recommend which programs we should purchase along with the computer, that would also help. Thanks!
