This is highly dependant on major or course of study. For just general use note taking and entertainment I would recommend a small laptop very portable, then for your room buy a bigger monitor usb keyboard and mouse thus when your at your room just hook up the laptop to the keyboard mouse monitor, and you don't have to suffer watching a movie on 12" etc. Course a good desktop is also good.

It depends what you are needing your computer for. Some computers are designed for media use, some are designed for multi-tasking, and some are good for gaming/entertainment. For school, i would go for the multi-tasking computer so you can listen to music, research, and do homework adll at the same time! hope this helps ya!!

well think of what your using it for, School papers and you might want to get a laptop. get one with word and exel and all that. Go to dell and check out their computers you can certinly find the one you need

get the right CPU speed, graphic card, and hard rive. you may want higher CPU if you want to run big programs, better graphic card if you want to watch a lot of video and play games, and a larger hardrive capacity if you want to have lots of files to store.
