No, not at all. Just make sure you get one that's compatible with the slot in your case on the motherboard. See the below link for some basic "how-to" instructions. Good luck.

They are pretty easy to install, but a couple things to think about:
If your existing card is integrated into the motherboard, you are going to want to enter the System BIOS during boot and disable your integrated card.
Second, be sure that the motherboard you have will support your new card. Most systems will have an available PCI slot, which is what the 'cheaper' video cards will be. The better cards will be AGP (Advanced Graphics Port.) Before your buy it, be sure your computer will support it.

nope it is easy buy a ati graphics card
have the power off on the pc be4 you open it
then on the inside of the pc your see where your 56k modem card is you can put the
graphics card on the next port down or over that the white ports
but if your pc has a graphics on the motherboard then your have to take the pc in for them to update your graphics display
if your graphics card is in one of the white posts nest to the 56k modem you can install it your self then when you set the pc back up
windows will find the new graphics card and windows xp may install the drivers for it if windowns xp cant find the drivers your have a driver cd that comes with your new graphics card easy set up

It is very easy if you buy a retail card with an installation cd,as the hardest part is installing the drivers, the card just fits in the slot as long as you buy the right card, PCI oldest AGP old PCI express 16 current

Depending on what type of graphic card you have. There are 3 types:

AGP: which belongs and goes into an Accelerated Graphics Port slot on the motherboard

PCI: which belongs and goes into a Peripheral Component Interconnect slot on the motherboard

PCI-E: which belongs and goes into a Peripheral Component Interconnect Express slot on the motherboard

Or depending on some manufacturers there is onboard graphics which comes with the motherboard.

No, just avoid wearing anything that may cause static electricity while installing the card, so that it does not blow it.

There are enough gaps on the card that will be visually obvious which way to set it into the slot it belongs. There are usually plastic clasps that fold over and lock it into place.
