I'd like to make a new account on Nexopia, but I don't know what to call it.
I want it to be one word.

Ex: Hollywood, FruitFly, Decline, etc.
Can you give me some ideas?

I am interested in doing some LAN parties with my friends. the trouble is, we have absolutley no idea how to set one up. I tried looking it up online, but all I get is this lingo with switches and such. Pretty much, I know what a router is, I know what a computer is. haha. so could someone explain what I need to buy and how to set it up?

I got an e-mail today. It said that I have registered to a web site 2 months ago. My daughter did, she told me today. It says in the mail that we have to pay 69 euros, they sent us a printable version of the check and we have 7 days to pay. My daughter wasn't on the site since, so we went today and we couldn't log in. We read the terms and conditions and it says we have to pay 69 euros yearly, and it only mentions it once almost at the bottom of the page, we hardly find it. My daughter didn't read this when she registered and to make things worse she didn't even gave her real personal details. It says from which ip address she registered but that is not our current ip address, so my first question is can my ip address change(adsl, and I reinstalled my modem once since). And the second is what to do because we read that other people are getting these mails to even if they don't register, the company is allways the same: Interserv AG FZE,Twin Towers,Baniyas Road, Deira, Dubai - UA.

i use a wireless modem/router to connect to the internet. the router assign dynamic ip addresses to several computers. my questions are

1. what's the relationship between ip address and access point?

2. my router has a function of "reserve" dynamic ip addresses and turn them into "static ip addresses". does turning an ip address of computer on the network into a static one priortize the internet connection of that paticular computer over other computers that have dynamic ip addresses?

thank you in advance.

I got win server 2k3 sm biz edition premium. I need to add another pc. Its been half a year since I did it to all the clients on the initial install.. but I forgot all the dang steps... I vaguely remember what to do on the PC side. On the server, I added the user and generated their info. The PC that isnt on the domain yet cant even get an IP from the DHCP server, and so no internet either. It will send packets, but not recieve.

What do I do? I need to get the connection, so that I can query the server to set up the client correctly with the new permissions. If that never happens, it will just be a freefloater.

This PC will be the 10th client, and I have 10 licenses.

We have a program that communicates to a webservice from a remote site. This program works great at several locations. However at one location there is a problem. At this location, The remote sites use cisco 1760 routers. The main site uses a Cisco 3745. These are connected using frame relay, and IPSEC tunnelling.
After a few days, one or more of the remote sites will quit talking to the web server. You cannot tracert or ping, or see the webserver at the main site. You can however tracert or ping to any other machine at the main site - it's just that particular route that doesn't work. You can also get to the webserver from other machines.
The windows firewall is not running. The remote site is running Symantic antivirus, but they swear there is no firewall enabled.
Shutting our service off, and then starting it back up drops the connection, and then all traffic starts working again.
To me it sounded like some sort of intrusion detection, but they swear it is not on. Any Ideas?

I just bought a laptop and a wireless router (it has an integrated wireless card inside of it). The router has a 4 port thingy on the back (sorry for the lack of technical terms here, lol). My roommate and I each have a desktop and both need to be hooked up to the internet from the desktops. Can we hook them up thru the wireless router? How do we do it and do we need any other additional equipment? We have one cable modem as well, where does that come into play?. Also do I need to "activate" the wireless function at all or is it just there already? I'm new to this if you can't tell. :) Thanks!!

I am pretty sure that I can call myself an expert at the piano. I mainly play classical, but in a week I am playing a private party and want some more jazz. Does anyone know of any websites or good books with some slow jazz sheet music that I could site read? I recently found the sheet music for "The Sims" if any of you know how that music was, just slow, jazzy, and easy. Please let me know if you have a clue. Thanks.

I know the router works because I get internet on my laptop and on my third (crappy $ 25)computer. What can I do?

My satellite plugs directly into my Tvs from the dish..like cable did, so I figured I could go directly to my computer as well, like I did with cable. I do this and it does not work? I dont know if I am missing a setting somewhere in media center or what, each tv in my house has to be on a certain channel then can be controlled with the satellite remote..so I am wondering if there is a setting in media center I need to change to make it pick up one of these channels? Anyone with any thoughts on this please pass along.

I have a networking issue at my home. I have 6 comps that I want connected to a cable internet connection. Just reread if you dont understand.

The cable line comes into the house and is recieved to a cable modem. The Cable modem connects to Router#1. Router #1 has three connections on it. The three connections are to Comp #1, Comp #2 and to Router #2. Comp #1 and Comp #2 have internet.

Router #2 has three connections. Comp #3, Comp #4 and Router #3. Comp #3 and Comp #4 have internet.

Router #3 is were the problems begin. Router #3 has Comp #5 and Comp #6 to it. Comp #5 and Comp #6 are connected to each other via share files and lan games, but they can not connect to the Internet like all the other computers can. If I take the internet wire out of Router#3 and put it in Comp #5 I will have internet. I need help getting Router#3 gain internet.

Also all wiring is in the walls, thats why i need all the routers as multiple comps are in different rooms.

Thanks

ok here is the network. we are getting DSL through a Netopia 3347W modem. from the modem goes to linksys DSL wireless router which is a BEFSR81. from that wireless router we go to an Edimax ES-3124RL 32 port switch. this switch has cables that go to all our computers and 2 waps.
also from the Linksys BEFSR81 there are 2 cables that go to 2 computer servers. one is a security camera server and one is a win 2003 server.
we have about at most 150 people a day getting on the network with their wireless laptops. lots of times there are dropouts. and the only way to bring it back up is by unplugging the Linksys BEFSR81 and then plugging it back up. it's a quick fix but only a temporary one. my hunch is that the problem is that it's the Linksys DLS router. i'm thinking that the DHCP server can not handle the amount of request for dynamic ip addresses. i don't know. it's also possible that we the hardware we are using could be updated and maybe we have a weak link in our hardware.
