If you are on a network then your files are most likely accessable from other computers within that network.

At one place I used to work ALL DOCUMENTS were stored on the server! -- You had to work at it to get them to save locally and even then a copy was stored on the server.. made it easy for them to backup but did indeed keep you from putting PERSONAL business on your system!

Just make the assumption that ANYTHING you do at work is monitored.. DONT do things you dont want them to know about while you are WORKING!

I have managed networks in the corporate world. Network Admins can monitor everything and they can do it several different ways. They can see your screen from their office or they can have text of your activity dumped into a file and view it.

My experience has been that Network Admins will only monitor users upon the request of management. We could usually tell when someone was about to quit or get fired because we were asked to monitor or make a report.

Every company is required to supply you with their Usage Policy of company owned equipment. They will usually explain their methodolgy for monitoring. I would check your Employee Handbook or speak with an HR person. Companies and IT personnel are generally up front about their policies.

Yes. I've worked at a couple places and even at the college I go to know had programs installed that with just a click of a button they can see exactly what you're doing. They can view everything on your monitor that you're looking at, what you're doing, what you're typing, etc.

nope. nicely.. the comparable nope that applies to each little thing else. the keep offered television/computer screen does not the flair to do something in any respect like that. i mean except that's a mac with those nifty cameras on the suited rim ;) yet somebody could desire to place a digicam in a television.. nevertheless it does not be useful.. greater ordinary just to place it in a figurine, or interior the vents, or in a speaker... and because we've become paranoid.. yet another relaxing way way could be to alter out a prevalent thick residing room mirror with a one way mirror and a digicam to checklist each little thing..

No. not unless they have a bunch of keyloggers installed on each computer, and someone who is constantly watching hundreds and hundreds of computers at one time.

What I'm trying to say is, even if the company wanted to have that much control over its employees, the labor required to even accomplish that would be cost prohibitive.

While thats not to say start writing dirty messages into word documents and think you'll get away with it. eventually your IT department WILL run a company-wide survey of everything on their Pcs, and things like that will get caught.

Technically, it's possible.
Take VNC viewer for instance, it's a nice way to view other people's desktops without them noticing.
If the VNC program is installed and configured to run silently on the other computer of course.

Yea you can do it with Dameware easily enough if you are a network admin. Can silently view any pc you like. There are other tools for it I'm sure.
