Uh huh...and what exactly is your question? What model of router? To install your router, just follow the instructions that came with it.

but not only that you don't have to install the router to just use it for a direct connection ((to get online)) just plug it in with the network cord ((ethernet cord, looks like a big phone cord)) and you can get online but to make your personal computer the administrator computer on the network you have to plug something into the usb port and download the software it came with. Simple... Then your computer will be the admin for anyone on ur network wirelessly or plugged in. Its not hard to do its just if your new to computer stuff then things can get confusing.
Now if you have the router and its been passed down through a friend or something and you don't have the software then you can simplely go to the companies website and download the software or if nothings available there then there are many file sharing websites among the web and I'm sure you an find something.
Also, if you don't have a usb adapter to connect ur router to the computer then you'll have to buy a new one for ur computer to be admin of the network but even if not then you can still just get online just like any other computer able to connect to ur network you will have the minimum sharing options.
If you still don't understand you can email me and tell me more information and I can more then likely help u out.
