I've read online that starting salaries for CCNA are 35-55k/yr and for CCNP an average of 61k/yr. However, after talking to several people who are actually in the field, I've heard that with no experience, right out of college, you can expect perhaps 30-35k/yr for a CCNA and 40-45k/yr for a CCNP. Pretty significant disparity. Anyone know anyone who actually got a higher-paying job with his degree with only his schooling behind him?

I have DSL. The # it's coming through only has 2 ports, one in the basement, and one on the top level. I have a wireless network that does not reach from the basement to the top floor. Can I buy another modem and router and put that in the upstairs port and have a signal broadcasting from up and on from below?

Hi, I want to connect my laptop to my Dreambox so that they can communicate. The laptop will connect to broadband via a wireless connection (or mobile phone when I travel), and the Dreambox needs to be able to download from online, I guess through the laptop's internet connection. Do I need a cross over or straight through cable?

I had Earthlink dial up, and had it set to auto-connect. I now have EMBARQ high speed, and that is working fine except I keep getting error messages from Earthlink trying to authenticate and dial out. I want to keep Earthlink tools, like virus protection , just want to get rid of the dialer.

Linksys WRT54G (Version 7) is a router. There are currently no third-party firmware available for WRT54G v7 and it could be possible that there'll never be one available because of the different chipset, etc. The third-party firmware for lower versions enables those routers to have WDS. So, was wondering if WDS in WRT54G v7 is currently one of its features but is undocumented?
