Your router settings arent on your pc, they are on a page in your router. You will need to consult the router manual. If you dont have it, download it from the router mfgs site.

To change the settings of your router or check them click start then run, type in cmd, then enter. When the command prompt comes up type in ipconfig. look for something that says defualt gateway write down the number next to that it will be something like (verizon westell routers are 192.168.1.1). close the command prompt. open internet explorer and type that number with no http:// or www. or .com just the number. navingate the settings and set them up the way you want them. if you are not sure what to do refer to your router manual or call your internet service provider, they will be glad to help toll-free. hope this helps.

2.At this point you might be asked sometimes for Username and Password in new separate window. Username and password will vary between brands and models as well among ISPs. Sometimes it might be something default set by manufacturer of router or modem (Linksys - username: blank ; password: admin), some ISP default, sometimes credentials given by ISP different for each user. If not sure contact hardware's or ISP's tech support and ask.
3.After providing correct credentials browser should display hardware interface, page which allows to make changes in hardware's (router/modem) configuration.
