you can also try to disable the auto disconnect function
Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
Click the Connections tab, click your Dial-Up Networking connection, and then click Settings.
Under Dial-up Settings, click Advanced.
Click the Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed check box to select it.
Click OK, click OK, and then click OK again.

agree that information is missing in the question...

One common issue with disconnects when using broadband (with a wireless router) is interference by cordless phones (2Gig hertz types for 802.11b).

I have had not just interference but the router actually rebooting...

A solution that worked for me (but does not seem to work for everyone) is to change the wireless channel in your router setup (try the lowest, try the highest) ...

first of all be more detailed !! how can we guess which connection you are using means which type of ? r u using dsl or dial-up ? if u are asking about dial-up then i must say ur dial-up internet account hours are finished buy new one
