I’m not very knowledgeable about this stuff, but I have 2 phone lines, each with ADSL internet access, if I connect them to one switch, will my LAN have the speed of the sum of both? Thanks.

Our desktop has 3 LAN ports. One of these ports is now connected to DSL modem. Is it possible to connect my laptop to one of the remaining two ports so that it can access the internet too?

I'm thinking of buying a cheap ~$15 laptop in an old computer auction but it doesn't have a Network Adapter. Does this mean no internet? Is there any way to get around this to make it internet capable?

And since I am the one who takes care of the phone that my DSL is on, why I had to have a credit card just for changing an email address and password?? Already an established account.

I figured out how to set up a VPN & map a network drive across a LAN(shared router). How can connect remotely to a mapped drive and copy files from it? When i connect with the VPN it shows the connection active on both computers at this point i thought i would be able to see the other computers hard dive and copy files from it. I don't know what to do with the VPN or how to connect with it remotely through my router. The desktop runs w2k and the laptop is xp. In setting up remote access was it nessary to configure an incoming connection on the w2k pc and folder sharing with primission or VPN on the xp pc just to be able to copy files from my home computer? What do i need to do as far as changing the configuration of the remote access from time to time to provide security for my computers Since i my be connecting my computer to the internet at cafe's and hotels? Need anything from hong kong let me know and i will see what i can do. Thanks for your help.

Almost everyone walks holding his or her hand to the ear while moving their lips. Students in computer labs multitask all the time, chatting with ten friends simultaneously, sending emails, and swapping photographs. This seems like greater "connectedness".

I have a removable drive that connects when I dock my laptop at home but each time it is disconnected it seems to forget the sharing information. How can i solve this problem? Does it require a third-party program or can I fix it through Windows? It's on a home network.
