The only way you can uninstall any service pack for Win2K or XP is if you chose the "archive files" option when you installed the service pack. If your windows install is new enough that SP2 was installed with the original windows install, then there's no way you can uninstall it. In that case you're going to have to get your hands on a WinXP install disk that doesn't include SP2, and use that disk to format and reinstall WinXP. If that's what you end up having to do, don't forget to backup all your files and anything you want to keep. The easiest way to do this is with the Files and Settings transfer wizard. Run the wizard, tell it to back up files and settings both, and take note of where you tell it to save the files. Then write the folder to a CD and you're good to go. Once you have your new windows install, just use the Files and Settings transfer wizard to unpack all the backed up data from the CD. You'll have to reinstall any programs you had, but your email settings, desktop, internet explorer favorites and that kind of thing will all be just like you had it before. Also, don't forget to make sure you have your Windows install key. Usually it's on a sticker on the computer case, but if not you can use software like the Magical Jellybean keyfinder to pull up your key. (Just do a search for Magical Jellybean in Yahoo, and it's the first site listed.)
