I right click on a file, go into properties, and choose to share the file, where will I be able to access the file on the other computer, and vice versa?

I was just wondering if it was possible to share files between the 2 computers, a laptop and desktop, just through the same internet connection. I have a DSL connection with a Linksys wireless router. The DSL modem is connected directly to the desktop, and the laptop is running off of the wireless router and I was wondering if I could share files between the two. Will I need to set up a local network, or will it be easier than that? Thanks.

Okay. I hate two computers in my home that are already hooked up with a router. I just got a laptop today and I bought a wireless internet router but I can't seem to be able to hook it up to the other two computers as well. Is there a special way to hook it up through the other router? I feel like I've tried absolutely everything!

i had asked this quetstion .......

hey my volume on my computer it won't work i tried getting new speakers no change what should i do ?

you're going to want to try what will cost the least first...
unfortunately it sounds like a soundcard issue.
so... try to go online and re-download the drivers for your soundcard... install them... and that may take care of things.
if that doesn't work...
get a q-tip and put some rubbing alcohol on it and try to clean the connectors... it may just be a loose connection.
if that doesn't work...
you may need to look at getting a new soundcard.
let's hope that isn't the case

this was the best answer but i don'y know what a soundcard is and how do you get one ???

I would like to offer five computer stations for my customers to browse the internet. I am wired for phone but not cable. In addition I would like to offer wireless internet access for the customers. There is an area set aside for five computers, the computers and wireless connections will get constant use but with a tight budget I am unsure whether to use a terminal-to-host, file server, or clinet/server. I would like a quality set up that is only expensive as need be. I am also unsure what type of protocol and network switching device to use for 5 computers on the LAN and for wireless access. In regards to cabling, I need a media type that would be best suited for my project and unsure which telecommunications device to purchase as well as the internet type that would best suit the customer's. I know this sounds like alot but I believe that my customer's would love this new feature and I know that they would get alot of use.

Attempting to track down a network problem, ideally I'd like to see reset flagged packets as well as syn and fin flagged packets, but not interested in the data going on between.

Thanks in advance!

Whenever I want to send data from my phone to my PC I have to select 'receive a file' from the bluetooth menu in the system tray to make the PC discoverable. This is just annoying - I want it to be discoverable at all times.

I've already got 'turn discovery on' checked in the bluetooth settings, but it doesn't seem to help....

It's a Belkin bluetooth dongle, if that helps.

I have just set up wireless networking in my home, or at least I thought I had. I have a connection to AOL broadband through my main PC, I have a BT Voyager 2110 modem router connected to this and I am now accessing the internet via my laptop that has an internal wireless card installed. However every now and then I lose my connection, depsite having excellent signal strength and then it says it is acquiring network access and sometimes takes 20 minutes to recoonect - any ideas?

We have a shared hard-drive and would like to set it up so you can check out a file or folder, work on your own computer and then check it back in, with revisions. Would like to know who checked it out, too. Is there software or a way to do this?

Thank you.
