- you might have a corrupted wireless card driver : update your drivers
- your wireless thingy is dying: replace (last resort)
- your WEP key is wrong (unlikely if you establish a connection and can surf the net before the drop out)

It could be interference. Does your wireless card detect other access points in the neighborhood? In 2.4GHz WiFi, there are really only 3 non-overlapping channels, 1, 6 and 11. Since WiFi operates in unlicensed band, interference can be a real issue. Even bluetooth, some cordless phones operate in 2.4GHz. If you use Microsoft Windows wireless utility, you can right click the little wireless icon (a computer with waves coming out of it), and click view available wireless networks. You may be amazed by the number of available wireless access point in your neighborhood.

it could also be that your router is assigning you a new IP address. If it is doing this too often, then you should check your router settings. type this in the address bar: 192.168.0.1 (you're gonna need the router's username and password (check the manual))

if you mean internet connectio, it has nothing to do with your wireless connection, it is probably your server
