I right click on a file, go into properties, and choose to share the file, where will I be able to access the file on the other computer, and vice versa?

I right click on a file, go into properties, and choose to share the file, where will I be able to access the file on the other computer, and vice versa? Will it be in My Documents, My Computer, etc.?

After I set a file/folder to share, where will it appear on the other computer? Will I have to import it as a download?

Make sure both computers are in the same workgroup, that no firewalls are in place, or they are thoroughly adjusted for just that communication, and that both computers are set to allow sharing on the network!

Try My Network Places form the windows explorer. Failing which you can join your Laptop to the LAN network by going to the properties of My Computer (Right click) choosing the Computer Name Tab and clicking Change. Then try the Windows Explorer

1. right-click the folder where the file is, click sharing and security, tick the radio button that says "Share this folder," type any name for your shared folder, and that's it.

2. tick the "file and printer sharing" option in windows firewall if it is enabled,

3. on the other computer, type \\computer-name (computer name of the laptop) on any browser or my computer or explorer. it will display the laptop, and the foldername that was shared. you can then access the files.
