I have a removable drive that connects when I dock my laptop at home but each time it is disconnected it seems to forget the sharing information. How can i solve this problem? Does it require a third-party program or can I fix it through Windows? It's on a home network.

Judging by one of the answers I may not have been absolutely clear with my initial description. My removable drive connects to my laptop when I dock it and that works fine, but every time I want to dock the station I have to set the removable drive to be shared again. Is there any way that the drive can automatically be enabled for sharing when it is connected to the computer? Through 3rd party software or otherwise?

If it's a simple USB storage device then there is no way to share it unless your computer is docked and turned on. If it has a built-in web/FTP server then you'd set the configuration on the drive itself and forget it. The same would apply for a storage device that connects via ethernet.
