I have a 40 GB hard disk in my laptop computer, and I plan to upgrade it to a 160 GB disk. Since the form factor shall remain the same, I believe that this 160 GB disk shall have more number of platters compared to the 40 GB disk- meaning thereby that the platters are closer in the 160 GB disk. Since my usage involves slight shocks and vibration, does this increased closeless of platters make the 160 GB disk more susceptible to damage due to shocks/vibration?

To put it the other way, is there increased risk of disk heads colliding-with or scratching the platter surface because of increased closeless of platters?

My ant has a real old computer, almost 3 years old now if im not mistaken she has AMD Athlon 3400 she complains its very slow and when she plays half life episode 2 (new one out) the computer frezes. She also has vista as Operating System.

Im flying over to visit her next week and i was thinking of buying her a Nvidia geforce fx 5500 PCI (she only has pci slots i made her check with Astra32). I will also install fresh copy of windows xp cos im thinking vista is eating up her ram making her pc slow. Anyways if i buy nvidia geforce fx 5500 pci 128mb will it be able to run games we have today on low settings?

I have a HP LaserJet 3050 All in One machine. I am having problems printing from a software program (work related). The PCL format on the software is a PCL 4 and the printer lists as a PCL 6. Would this be why I have problems printing? Is there anyway to change the PCL? If it's not the PCL anyone shed some light as to perhaps why I cannot print (I can print perfectly fine from say Word, excel, Outlook, etc.) Thanks!

My computer is getting advertisements of solely audio. I do not get a pop up window or anything. Just randomly, advertisements for like that Tila Tequilla show start playing through my speakers.... Or just random songs that I've never heard before start playing. Does anyone have any idea what this is, and what I do to delete it? I've gone to Add/remove programs, but there is nothing unfamiliar to me in ther that could be causing this. Please help!
