When my brother was working on his coursework last night and tried to save it onto his jump-drive, he recieved a message that said something along the lines of "cannot save - file is corrupt". He had already saved it a few times earlier but cannot find the piece he had written (about six pages long).

The Jump Drive is a Lexar 128mb . All the other files on it remain fine (touch wood). Unfortunately I cannot tell you the exact message that popped up, as I wasn't there at the time.
Please help me out a bit, as the assignment is due in nearly a week.

ok im getting me a new laptop well my first laptop i really am just going to use it to surf the web download music and listen to music.i was wondering though what do i have to do to get internet on my laptop?i really dont stay at one place i have internet in one house but im usually not there besides its used by family so thats self explanitory.and my other home we dont have internet and my boyfriend dosent want to get it so what do i do and how do i do it?and i dont think thoes internet cafes are for me because i like to b at home and comfortable when im using my computer.someone help if you can PLZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!

Tele-care uses network technology can relay various kinds of signal of the patient to doctor or medical personnel without the limitation of time and space. Therefore it may lighten medical personnel's burden and can look after the patient all the time. This project plans to setup a tele-care system used for indoor and outdoor occasions. Tumbling signal and physiological signal of the patient can be transmitted by active RFID label on the medical measuring device and received by active RFID reader which can relay the signal to the control center via network. When the medical personnel find the abnormal signal then he can converse and confirm the condition with the patient. PDA receive the tumbling signal and physiological signal from active RFID or blue tooth then reach the control center via GSM/GPRS. The collected data combined with patients background information will be analyzed to learn more about tele-care, then the patient can be more effectively taken care.

i have purchased a new pc with different configuration than the old pc, i tried to replace the old hard disk on the new pc and start the new pc, on boot it gives me the error message with a blue screen, its a laptop hard disk, and the operating system is windows-2000, i tried repair option by booting from cd, but it does not work it stops during boot up, kindly help me to overcome this problem

Recently someone has made a phony myspace of me that has messages including Wrong information such as being gay, giving blowjobs, etc. Also giving out my personal information and theres a big thing going on with this and i have an idea of who made it but i need to know how to track the computer that the myspace was created on. my front USB port isn't working. i'm using a compaq presario which has card reader's and a USB port in front and 4 USB ports at the back. if i plug my thumbdrive in the back ports it works normally and if i plug it through my front port it doesn't work. i've tried checking the device manager and it says everything is working normally. what can i do? thanks.

i have gone through soo much b/c of him, i want to forget him and this was my first step, how did he get back on my friends list?!

I have a Microsoft Error Message window that refuses to close. The message states that there is an error and the program has to close. There are two choice; one to report the message and another to close the message. In the past when I chose one or the other, the window closes, the program shuts down and I start again. Now however, when I choose one of the two options, it just duplicates and refuses to close. Even when I reboot the system, when I come back into my rogers email or try to open Google, the message comes up again. The only thing I can open is netscape but netscape is limited in what it can open. How do I get rid of that window so I can open Google and rogers from my desktop shortcuts?

1. Core 2 Duo or AMD 64 x2? - some says that Intel is definitely better & AMD heats up real quick. Others says both are as good, only Intel is preferred only cos of the popularity & there's no difference between the 2.
2. Some says the speed e.g 2.0 Ghtz, is more important than the FSB & the cache & others says otherwise or doesnt matter - the RAM is more important as the bigger itis, the easier & faster the computer will access the required info/perform the required tasks.
3. My main usage will be for gaming, some file sharing on the net, movies now & then & storage (which i'm aware the bigger HD the better)

Here are my options:

1. Intel® Core™2 Q6600 Quad-Core (8MB L2 cache,2.4GHz,1066FSB)

2. Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6850 (4MB L2 Cache,3.0GHz,1333 FSB)

#1 has 4 processors compared to 2 and a bigger cache

however, #2 runs at 3GHz compared to 2.4GHz, and has a higher FSB

I am looking at getting a good computer that will last 5-7 years, and be able to run any software that come sout in that time

Nothing fancy, but i want to be able to play some games, do basic pictures, and have a few thousand songs on the hard drive.

what i'm wondering about is whether or not having the faster processor at 3GHz would make that much of a difference for what I want to do

AND whether having the 4 processors compared to 2 would be better anyways

I want to be able to access my home PC from another IP(not on same network)
On my home network I have several PC`s

I have basic knowledge in routing. Which ports must I foward?

When attempting to connect Do I simply put my home IP(in the remote desktop connection box) or do I need to follow it with something else to Identify which PC I want to connect
IP

xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:33333(Port example)
xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:192.168.x.x(my network IP)

Or none of the above lol

My PC won't boot, all the fans start, the mobo lights up. But there is no signal to the keyboard/mouse or monitor. The PC was working fine for around 3 weeks, then one day it just wouldnt start.

I have replaced the motherboard, the PSU and the CPU. Still the same problem, have tried to boot out on a non-conductive surface, to eliminate any shorting problems... still happens. I am sooo stuck, I have tried booting without a video card and without RAM still nothing, no post or anything. MY spec:

Core2Duo 2160 CPU
abit ip-35e Mobo
2gb DDR2 800mhz Ram
x1950 pro PCI-E GFX
600w OCZ stealthXtreme.

Find me the answer and I will love you forever :)
