My PC won't boot, all the fans start, the mobo lights up. But there is no signal to the keyboard/mouse or monitor. The PC was working fine for around 3 weeks, then one day it just wouldnt start.

I have replaced the motherboard, the PSU and the CPU. Still the same problem, have tried to boot out on a non-conductive surface, to eliminate any shorting problems... still happens. I am sooo stuck, I have tried booting without a video card and without RAM still nothing, no post or anything. MY spec:

Core2Duo 2160 CPU
abit ip-35e Mobo
2gb DDR2 800mhz Ram
x1950 pro PCI-E GFX
600w OCZ stealthXtreme.

Find me the answer and I will love you forever :)

OK. Unplug the data and power cables from and hard drives, floppy drives, CD drives, etc. Just leave the CPU/heatsink in, and one ram stick in. You "can" remove the video card and all other add-in cards. Disconnect the mouse and keyboard.

You need the CPU to make noise (if the CPU fan comes on - the CPU is ok). You need the RAM to get the system to run further - like getting any messages, or getting into the BIOS.

If it sounds better - like it wants to boot, install the Video Card - make sure that it works and you can read messages and get into BIOS. You don't need the hard drive or any other add-in card to get to BIOS.

If you get this far successfully and boots, then plug in your hard drive and make sure you get into Windows. Try only one item (CD/DVD, ZIP, whatever) at a time till you find the culprit.

I'm thinking that a bad hard drive or CD drive may be dropping a rail to 0 vdc and not allowing the thing to work.

I have also had shorted keyboards and mice cause the system to die like you are having.

Hope this helps.

You can not boot up without the RAM or Video Card. Rather disconnect everything else including all your drives and see if it starts up.

Was the replacement motherboard and processor the same make/model?
Make sure the jumpers(if needed) and connectors on the motherboard are in place. Double-check that the processors and RAM and Video display card are still compatible and properly seated..

Double check all connections including power. Make sure the mobo is not touching the inside of the case. I hope this makes sense. Make sure there is enough thermal compound on the CPU.

My guess is a powerful and highly destructive virus has got onto that computer, try inserting the hard drive into another computer and see if it boots up ok, if not then you may have to reformat and reinstall.
