For school work.. anyone of those but as a computer user (and believe me, I mean it) I stick with Windows XP Pro. Some applications don't run in Vista. My recommendation to you is XP Pro.

You should be fine with Windows XP pro (not the x64 edition) or the Vista ultimate edition. If it dont cost anymore go with XP since its been out the longest and you will have alot of knowledgeable support if you run into trouble. If it makes no difference in price certainly go with Vista as its where things are going these days just know thats the support isnt all there just yet due it the newness of the OS.

Any really but XP pro has been good to me. But that is just the operating system and has nothing with getting school work done
