I know this may be a stupid question, but I just want to be sure I have my luggage when I get to my destination. Thanks.

Yes, that's the way it's supposed to work.

Sometimes (more often these days) you or your luggage will make a connection that the other doesn't. That is why seasoned travelers take as much as they can in their carry-on baggage.

Yes your luggage should automatically be transferred from one aircraft to the next, especially if it is with the same airline. If you still feel a little nervous about it the employees at the ticket counters are always very helpful and can answer most questions you have.

Yep. (We just found out, on a mixed-up Northwest flight routed through Minneapolis, and I might add, AVOID Northwest, at all costs!) Federal rule is, the baggage MUST accompany the passenger.

(Unless the NORTHWEST rep who told me was wrong, which, come to think of it, in regards to Northwest, is entirely possible...)

So long as its the same ariline it will be trnasfered. If you go from one airline to another youll have to go get it and recheck it. So check your flights to make sure. This is unusual but it happens (different airlines for your second leg that is).
