my laptop is cluttered with junk due to the fact we have had to rely on it while waiting for a desktop to arrive. I would like to clean all the clutter off but don't know where to start or what to take off. is there a way to simplify this and restore it back to factory settings as if it were sent from the company? Also i had asked the question about the videos not loading on my msn page and cbs.com but able to view utube etc. Nothing anyone suggested worked, it still gives me that Internet explorer needs to shut down speech, i don't know how to go to my favorites and find those links anyone suggest i delete. I know where my favorites are but i don't see the links they suggest i delete(adult links?) . I tried to download mozilla and it froze up and wouldn't let me. I know when ever i active x is needed, i click yes and it freezes as well. all issues i hope are resolved by returning to factory settings or if someone has better ideas, please give them to me. THANKS

My laptop just stopped working and when I re-boot it stops and says 'Can not find or file corrupt: windows2000\ system32\ ntoskrnl.exe. Please re-load file.' How do I fix this or if I have a Windows 2000 disk, how do I re-install this file?? Is my data completley lost?? Thanks for the help...

I'm asking how can one know that a new core banking system is stable or ready for production or ready for go live?

My bank bought an overseas core banking system for its muli-functional capabilites. My company has worked extgensively with the vendor to ensure it works. But we keep finding minor showstopper defects, such as in overdrafts not working in all cases.

My question is how will my company know when we're ready to go live on the new system? We're doing SIT, UAT, etc... but not testing in parallel. And not obtaining sign-off by a third party.

Has anyone gone thru a core conversion before? Where you've custom-built the core & many of the 3rd-party systems? If so, how do u know when you're ready to go live?

well my life was just screwed...wen i say screwed i mean screwed...literally this trip has been a disaster..im heading off to go to college and then miss most of my connecting flights due to AA not carrying ppl on time--this happens way too frequent-newaysssss then i accidentally left my laptop in the train and then when i check the trains like as soon as they came back it was GONE!!!yeah lots more things happened but this isnt the point my point is i had like picturesof me on my computer right and also pics of my friends so like im really worried now that some sick freak out there who stole a STUDENTS LAPTOP could put my pics on sites and frig my life up ...CAN THEY STEAL MY IDENTITY?????Has this happened to anyone i mean rite now i feel real bad cus my pics r on there but i did have a password but then again the person can easily go thru that if he knows what to do....Neways i had to buy a laptop same day ----well next day actually cuz i had to overnight so yh anyadvice

im creating a video for my dads funeral using media movie maker, but i cant import the music, becouse it says that the file is not supported by movie maker. i got the music from limewire, then moved it into widows media player library,
but it has an extention *wpl , which movie mkr doesnt support!! how can i get it into movie mkr
or change the *wpl to *mp3 or other supported ext file?????

The sound on my laptop keeps coming and going I get it back sometimes and at other times it is just gone. I can hear it if I plug in earphones but not anyother way for now any ideas? This is a toshiba. All the audio controls are on nothing is muted. Sometimes it comes back loud and clear after I clean it up think it is a virus?

i previously installed Microsoft Works 2006 on my laptop, because of Microsoft Word 2002. My computer came with Microsoft Word 2007 that only works if you buy it. So i figured i'd buy this version because i need the word processor since i'm in school. Anyways, it worked in the beginning, but now that i'm trying to use it again, all that comes up is word 2007. it can't even open my old files. I tried to reinstall it but it said word 2002 was already on my computer. Does anyone know how i can get it working again??

when viewing a friends myspace I was insturcted to download a myspace profile viewer to proceed after I did this everytime I log onto the internet I am getting the startup page Browseitnow.net how can I get rid of the myspace profile viewer. I have looked under add and remove programs not there but there is a icon on my wallpaper any ideas will be appreciated. For the first, (and if they try to charge me, only time), I rang the 0906 Virgin media broadband number because I couldn't sign in to my email service on their website. They told me it was a problem with my computer, this was about 6pm 19th Sept.

The problem was the .com kept changing to :com so I couldn't sign in, but I could sign in directly at the direct email address.

On the virgin service status page, there was a known fault with that same issue from 1.01 pm.

How come their technician knew nothing about the fault, and blamed it on my computer?

The power cord and battery are brand new but the charge light is not coming on. The power cord light comes on so I know it's good and the battery was charged when I got it so I know that's not it. I called Dell and they said it was probably a hardware problem. Would like other opinons. The laptop is 3 and a half yrs old. Thanks !

I put in my CD, go through the setup option...hit "R" for repair (Second repair option) and it starts repairing. However, when it finishes the repairing process it goes through Windows setup again but it keeps saying that it can't find .dll files. It prompts with a dialog box where it indicates that there a specific file that it cannot copy from the CD. When I click browse on the, the file EXISTS! but setup is not reading it!!! If I press cancel and choose to skip the file, it prompts with another file, and another, and another and so on and so forth. It says if I skip copying Windows Xp will not work properly...so I did. I skipped the copying process and it finished the setup. However, when I came to my logon screen, my mouse and my keyboard were not working! I'm so lost. I've tried repair 3 times but to avail! It keeps bringing up the prompt..."Setup cannot copy the file xxxxxx.dll"...."make sure Windows Xp Professional Service Pack 2 is inside"...and it IS!!

I am running a YAMAHA CD-REWritable drive through an Adaptec AVA2904 SCSI card. I am running Vista ultimate, but it does not even see my disk drive, i am presuming that i have a compatibility problem between adaptec and vista!

Does anyone know where i can find a driver or resolve this problem as i cant seem to find a driver on the Adaptec website for vista.
