My PC gets louder the more I ask it to do. I'm running Windows XP Pro on a 2.93 Celeron chip on a ECS motherboard with 2 GB of DDR ram. When I run multiple taks it gets louder and louder. I was thinking of replacing the PSU. Are there quiet PSU's on the market? What I have now is the bottom of the barrel cheapie PSU. My CPU fan and heatsink is reletively clean, so I don't think that is the problem. I upgraded the CPU fan to a Coolermaster "silent" fan when I built this thing. My impression is less than satisfied with that. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is there any way of making my BT Broadband quicker. I'm on Option 3 and getting around 5meg. I have the hub connected to the master socket, installed by the BT engineer, and I also have two other sockets around the house, one for Sky and one for the upstairs landline. All have microfilters on them with no extension leads. Does it really matter that these microfilters are on these sockets, as I don't really use them. Also, does it help to directly plug the hubs telephone line into the back of the wall socket rather than the front - As I've read this may help?

I have trawled the internet high and low and I cannot find any specific internal AGP Graphics Card that is compatible with my Mac. I own an Apple Mac Mini and I am fairly sure that there isn't one as the Mac Mini is already compact enough. But if there isn't one available I need to know if you can plug an external one into a Firewire port or a USB 2.0 port because I spent about 250 pounds on Final Cut Pro to find out I need this piece of hardware.

I am doing some image manipulation on users' inputs: everytime, the image is modified, but is sent by the server with the same name (can't change it).
Putting headers such as:

BEFORE the tag works fine with IE6-7, but fail with Firefox: the image on the screen is the image cached on the user's machine.
Any idea how to implement this so it can run on firefox?

It sneaks in to allmost all google search results crops up in the media and magazines like its totally fantatstic or something.

It seems to me that it's more like a freely editble blog since the "Experts" who write the articles are just people who have an account.

Whats worrying me about the site is that it's being seen more and more as a valid referance source and has even been used in a few minor legal cases. It's all so troubling that some schools seem to think it's ok to use their stuff for teaching.

There are a lot of cool smart people on wikipedia but all so a ton of crazy obessive nerds and people with biases and agenders.

Most articles "Citations" are mostly copy and pasted from tiny articles in science magazines.

How has this website gotten this much acclaim and power?

What are your thoughts?

when I put the mouse cursor in the search bar of any searching engine ( google - altavista - mamma .......) a list of the last searched words appear ( and this makes me embarrassed as for its content ) so I want to make this list doesn't appear i.e delete the history of the last searched words. how can I do this?

I'm currently in the market for a new computer, i want a relatively good computer. The problem is that my dad wants to buy one for around 700 dollars, and i havent heard from anyone that 700 dollars can get you a decent Pc. The one that i want the AeonCraft Aeon-7035, which, with the add-ons i want, is about 1677, two gigs of ddr2 ram, with surround sound speakers, quad core processor, liquid cooling. i am currently using a wireless connection. it seems tat i could connect to to my preferred wireless network but i cant connect through the internet..everything seems to be fine, the connection icon has not shown any connectivity problem. i have tried restarting the wireless adapter but it still wont help. is there any way to solve this problem?

I know if your hard disk is logically damage you can easily use a software to retrieve the data inside it and just format it and the hard disk is back to normal (correct me if i am wrong) but how do they (big company) retrieve data from a damage hard disk which physically damage can someone tell me and is it possible to do it on our own if we have the right equiqment

I like iTunes, but for some reason, when I burn an CD with it, the CD doesn't sound as clear as the audio file can get, and I can't set a quality preference for the Burning options, only playback, so is there a software that will let me customize the songs when they burn to the CD, and not the playback, plus, if it can, I want it to be free.

I just put together a computer and it sounds like it runs fine (no long beeps or anything) and I double checked to see if I plugged everything in. I tried 2 different monitors and tried both vga and dvi. The computer runs.. but the screen just stays blank. I NEED HELP!

The program QuarkXpress is installed on the computers in one class at this college, and I tried to email it to myself so I could use it other places (i.e. in the lab), but I got a message saying that the file is too large.
