I got a laptop from someone..(parents work)

and it get to the login screen and i can't get by....
some times it says it can't find the tree or server
i tried safe mode but i still have to login
i need some way to get in without the password...



Please help me!

ok the thing is taht my computer was really fast but ever since i installed photoshop cs3 and microsoft office 2007 my computer got really slow and everytime i turn it on it takes like ten minutes to load completely and i am not even kidding. i do not have any virus or spyware since i already checked and i have a great anti virus program (that is not the reason why my computer is slow either) i have 890 mb of ram and 140 gbs that ia m not using. what can i do to make it faster. i already did a disk cleanup and i pit the spyware thing and nope it is the same nothing happened. i heard about pc booster...is this a good program to make my computer faster or what? please help.

Its been working fine for a couple of days now, but all of a sudden i couldn't get a signal from it. Before this i got a weak one and a strong connection. I used the strong and now all i get is the weak. I tried to unplug it and plug it back in and now the lights won't even turn on. I've tried every plug and they all work fine. Help!

i have a linksys wireless g-router working with my sbc dsl modem. but i just recently upgraded to att elite high speed internet. they are sending me a gateway wireless router modem. is it possible to use my linksys wireless router with it also? if so how? my setup is 1 computer, 2 xbox 360s, 1 wii, 2 laptops.

I have a new HP Desktop system with Windows Vista. I Have had it about 3 months. I just changed the batteries in the wireless keyboard because it was getting "sluggish" when I typed. Now the keyboard will not work at all. The batteries are new. They are in the correct way. I see the blue light at the back of the computer lighting up when I use the mouse but not when I use the keyboard. There is a blue button on the bottom of the keyboard that states: CONNECT. What is this for? I have pushed it, held it down, pushed it during boot-up, etc, etc. I can't find my instruction book and calling HP is like trying to call the President, it's impossible. Can anyone help me or offer any suggestions?

Hi There,
Well it seems to me I'm missing a driver for my Apple monitor. I've had it for about a year and all of a sudden the screen doesn't have very good color. This happened to me on a PC and after installing a driver everything was working. I'm hoping someone can give me a link to find a driver for my iMac 4.1. My screen has very poor color. I can hardly read small writing and I need help. I tried changing the resolution and all already, and my warranty is expired. I'm hoping I won't have to bring it into a shop...

unplugging and powering down doesn't help either.

which one is better and do they work with macs because my older (3-4 year old) linksys is giving me a problem with my new macbook and the advice that i was given from support was to probably go with a new router (netgear). also do the new linksys routers work with macs?

I am the only account on it. I've reset it a million times cause my brothers kept hacking it and now I can't remember it. Is there any way I can reset it from the login screen? My computer nerd brother isn't home now to help me out.

Hey. Recently I have bought Nero 7 Ultra edition, so i could back up my favorite dvds. I installed it and all, but when i open it it doesnt have all of the dvd features. It is the full version, but my friend alos has the same version but he has more options that allow him to burn dvds. It looks like i have everything ecept the things ineed to burn dvds. OK, i was at a relatives house and looked to see iff they had microsoft word(don't ask me why i looked,long story)so i see they have it.office 2000.so i then start to search for the disc.after 5 minuites or so i finaly find and ask if i could take it home and try it on my laptop(dell inspiron 1300)so the asnwer was yes and i was chuft untill i got home.i type in all i need but it says the product key is wrong.yet i'm sure its right.i don't know whether its something to do with CAPS or anything so maybe its because the key is already in use
please please pelase help!!
P.S this is what the message reads:
you have not entered a valid product key

I I want to build up a new system just for doing one task alone and it makes no sense I buy another monitor when I already have one.

I want to know how do I use one monitor but have totall controll of two computers?

I'm working on an Excel problem I'm having. I'm creating a receipt program so that when people buy things at my store their name comes up on the receipt thanking them. I have a database of names and every name is connected to a specific gender M or F. Basically how do I tell excel to change M into "Mr." or if it is F to "Mrs."

Both notebook hard drives were tested on vista, the 4200rpm fujitsu scored a 4.1 on windows experience index while the 5400rpm hitachi scored a 4.0? Whats the deal with that I definately thougt the 5400rpm would be faster? both have 2mb buffer and the fujitsu has ata-7 while the hitachi has ata-5..
