Hey. Recently I have bought Nero 7 Ultra edition, so i could back up my favorite dvds. I installed it and all, but when i open it it doesnt have all of the dvd features. It is the full version, but my friend alos has the same version but he has more options that allow him to burn dvds. It looks like i have everything ecept the things ineed to burn dvds. Please help me with my problem

If I bought a product which did not have all the features it was suppose to have I would return it or exchange it.
Sometimes files become currupt even on brand new media. Which is why in the warranty it often contains a section which pertains directly to the media the product comes on. If for any reason the product is not what it is suppose to be, or the media is in any way damaged, you can return it for a full refund or exchange it for a different disk.
Read the warranty details and if it is not beyond the date of warranty make a decision on which you would rather do, exchange or receive a refund.
*note* Often when you purchase any item from an Online store and return it for any reason, even if it is unopened, there is a 10 to 15% "restocking" fee. Keep this in mind when shopping Online.
Copy Protected DVDs can not be copied. There is a mechinism which stops the copy process or gives an error.
Also, some features need to be enabled. Check you documentation to be sure all features are enabled you wish to use. Go into either Options or Preferences and click on each tab to see what or how to enable different features and preferences.

Solution 1 - Go Tools > Nero Product Setup and reinstall Nero.Be sure to choose the right options when it will ask you what features you want to install.
Solution 2 - At the Main window of Nero at the right bottom corner there are three little images.Go to the first one (with the 2 faces) that says Toogle Between Standard and More Advanced Tasks.

you probably havent enabled the featured or clicked dvd in the menu when nero smartstart pulls up
i got nero with my dvd writer and reader
