I have trawled the internet high and low and I cannot find any specific internal AGP Graphics Card that is compatible with my Mac. I own an Apple Mac Mini and I am fairly sure that there isn't one as the Mac Mini is already compact enough. But if there isn't one available I need to know if you can plug an external one into a Firewire port or a USB 2.0 port because I spent about 250 pounds on Final Cut Pro to find out I need this piece of hardware.

All answers appreciated
Thank you

If you have an Intel Mac Mini, it uses an "integrated" graphics chip. So, there is no graphics card, per se, to be replaced. I don't know of any external Mac-compatible device that would do the trick for you that doesn't cost many times more than the money you have spent so far. For instance, Aja makes some external firewire video boxes, but they are $2k+ and require the entire firewire channel, so there would be no way use external firewire disks with the Mini at the same time.

The bad news is that the Mac Mini is not really an appropriate platform for running FCP. I would recommend seeing if you can get by with iMovie for your editing task. if you really need the power of FCP, then you will have to upgrade to a high-end notebook, iMac, or (preferably) a tower. Sorry I don't have better news.

As the person above said, contact apple, but i think that Mac Mini's are "as is" like a laptop, changing the graphics card isn't possible.
I found a couple of links, check them out and see if thats what you were looking for.
But i suspect as the graphics card loads before the mainboard BIOS, which in turn loads the USB sockets, this won't help you.

The best people to enquire are the Apple people. Email them.

Mac are also proprietory. That is, all the parts are specially made by Apple. You can't just go out and buy a compatible AGP or PCI Express card like that.
