What is the use of partioning your hard drive & how do you do it? Please give a detailed explanation

My operating system is Vista Home Premium

Secondly How do you increase your ram without actually going out and buying new ram i.e. disk cleanup????

for the second question; u cannot increase ram by diskcleaning

ok lets start with partioning..

When you are installing an O/s on the computer you would like to make a partition for
a) storing files so that if the operationg system(O/S) crashes your files are not lost

b) installing mulltiple o/s on the computer(xp and vista)

c) to create a back up of your existing drives

Coming to you second question RAM or memory on the computer is a hardware so it cannot be increased by disk cleanup..it only would free up your hard drive's space by deleting unused file etc.,

HOWEVER if you want to allocate more memory on the existing computer you can do that by increasing the page file size or you can also share the avilable RAM between your proc and video card.
