WPL isn't a music file, but rather a playlist, a text file which points to other files. If you open that file in Notepad or WordPad, you should get a clue as to where the music is actually stored. It'll be stuff like
C:\Documents and Settings\(your name here)\My Music\...
That's where media player usually stores the music. Use your Windows Explorer (It'll be found under Start\All Programs\Accessories) to browse there, you should find some folders containing the real music.
If you import the actual music files themselves (they will have an extension like WMA or MP3), Movie Maker should happily import them.
Good luck!

Try downloading the music in *wma or * mp3 format. There are programs that will change the file type for you, but then you'll probably have to buy a program. I would also try to find the song on a reputable site, pay the money and download a legit copy. Hey, isn't your dad's funeral worth spending a buck for a song?

What I've done in the past when I needed a quick change and didn't want to download a conversion program was to burn the song to cd, then rip it from that cd to my computer with Media Player set to record it as an MP3 (or whatever other file type I needed). It uses up a CD, but it is quick and easy.

wpl is just a play list for windows media player. find the file you downloaded before you moved it to windows library and use that instead.

If you import it into your document " My Music ", and then try it from Windows Movie Maker, it might be able to. If not, google the question. I've googled it before and it comes up. Or on the windows movie maker itself has tips and questions answered for importing music. But i don't understand why it doesn't work.
Anyways, good luck. Sorry about your dad.
