everyone on my list, if they dont reply for ages their status goes to idle, but when i dont reply for ages mine still says online.

Can i simply use a vacuum cleaner and a small nozzle fixed onto the long hose of the vacuum cleaner to clean my desktop CPU fan and heatsink? Setting the suction power to lowest to prevent damage of parts.

There's a lot of dust accumulated on the heatsink and i wish to clear them up. And i dont have compressed air at home. So i am still wondering if i can use a vacuum cleaner instead. I will place my motor unit of the vacuum cleaner far away from the PC to prevent static electricity discharge and the electromagnetic field generated by the motor.

Can i do it this way? Thanks to anyone who knows and helps... =)

I have a 2 year old sony vaio vgn tx650. I was working on it and the screen went black, I tried to turn it on and nothing. only the green light comes on and the little sound from the hard drive and the fan, but the screen is blak and no BIOS or nothing comes on at all. can any one help?

want to move old music files off an old packard bell desktop to transfer to another computer. i have 2 external hard drives and a usb drive - none will work - getting the message needs to search for drivers and these are plug and play devices. the computer doesn't recognize them and i have nothing (disk) to install them to the computer... would burn the music to CD's but there are about 400 files so too time consuming and there is no CD burner in this computer!! what can I do to get these files moved. I also have no internet connectivity but think i can hook up - just preferred not to.

Im thinking about doing a powerpoint presentation to present a project in school. Instead of the boring layout with bullets and clip art i wanted to make it more creative. Im putting pictures as a background or putting clip art together to convey a message. The only text used is a simple title. Im going to do most of my speaking off the top of my head and not read off bullets. is this a good way to present a powerpoint or would it seem to weird?

I just got a new mp3 player (mobiblu) that holds more music than my old one (also a mobiblu). I have enough USB ports to plug them both in at the same time, but apparently they both need to use the F drive. One of them doesn't show up when I plug it in. How can I transfer my music from my old mp3 player on to my new one?

When I go to see the computers on my workgroup, it gives me this error "(Workgroup name) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. i installed the driver and software for the wireless card. it scans for available wireless networks but is unable to locate one. i know the card work because it works fine on a different laptop, same wirless connection. It will not pick up a signal right next to the router. what can i do?

I have a custom built computer, in it, it has a AMD FX-60 dual core CPU. I also have 2 GB of corsair RAM, 2 Nvidia 7900 GTO graphics cards, a 600 watt power supply, and a Asus SLI-Premium motherboard. And etc. My system temp usually never exceeds 50c. Average is around 48c.

So the problem here is, recently i was trying to overclock my CPU, and i failed miserably, forcing me to clear the RTC/BIOS.
Ever since then, whenever i play games such as Oblivion, Dawn of War, Company of Heroes, etc, my computer always shuts down. These games worked before i tried overclocking.

Advice on how to fix? Thanks in advance.
